Swords hidden in canes are always cool. ๐
EDIT:
Just finished watching Beyond the Mask. I enjoyed it, though it wasn't quite what I was expecting. Not necessarily in bad ways; I just had different ideas as to how it was going to pan out. For one thing, I thought the romance was only going to be a side-story, not the protagonist's driving force. I also wasn't expecting him to remind me of what I know of the Assassin's Creed video games (particularly the scene in which he runs around on housetops). And I think I expected a little more National Treasure-esque vibes too, but anyway.
On a slightly unrelated note, I'm realizing as time goes on and as I watch more Christian films, it's difficult to neither lose the story in the message nor lose the message in the story. Bad as it sounds, I've seen a couple Christian films that have made me zone out once they talk for X amount of time about the (or a) message. On the flip side, it's also important to not shoehorn the message awkwardly into the story. It's all in the execution and I tip my hat to those who have managed to not err on either extreme (as for those that I think strike the balance almost, if not perfectly, in the center... well, I salute them for the masterful storytellers they are).
I watched War Room. ๐ It was fantastic. ๐
It is good, isn't it?
Mainly...IT WASN'T CHEESY. ๐ And that makes me happy because I feel like most Christian movies are cheesy. : P
I don't think I've seen any that were high in the cheese department, but I have seen ones that have message but are insanely weak on story.
That's what I was trying to say. ๐ Words are hard. ๐
Just finished watching Private Peaceful. I have many bones to pick with it. Poor, poor adaptation of the book. No emotion, weak characterization, incredibly rushed story. I don't think I quite believed Elanor when she expressed disappointment. Now I do. Especially since I enjoyed the book.
Haven't really watched any movies lately but I found a YouTube channel called Simon's Cat, a channel devoted to animating shorts about a cat. So hilariously accurate. ๐ I'd recommend it for anyone who is need of a little laugh.
"... but I won't forget nor will I forget all who took that road with me...."
Watched BotFA for the second time (much longer wait between this and the theater than with the first two). Thorin's death. Bilbo inviting the Dwarves to stop in for tea should they come by. Feeeeeeeels.
Pan - hilarious & enjoyable! I loved it, especially Hook!
Road to Avonlea - a favorite old timey show ๐
Just watched Jurassic World. It's nothing special and pretty boring.
Studio C made a "deleted scene" for Jurassic World that I imagine is better than the film.
Oh, that sketch was hilarious! I watched it again yesterday evening. ๐
Speaking of Studio C, I've just started watching them! They did a sketch with The Piano Guys, and I've been browsing their YouTube channel since I saw that - I think my favourites so far are the International Relations video and the Shakespearean Therapy. ๐
I've seen everything studio c ever posted on YouTube...my favorites are Hibiscus and Channel Surfing. ๐ ๐ ๐
