I've been watching the World Series.
But Tooky, don't you hate sports? You ask.
I don't hate them. I find them boring.
Things just get exciting when you live in Illinois, have a family of Cubs fans, and your family's team hasn't won in 108 years.
Oh, yes! Congratulations! 😉 That was an exciting game!
@Tooky: lol!
Just watched "Everest". And am largely underwhelmed by the film, even though the scenery is breathtaking. I only cared about two characters (one of whom is not even present for most of the film) and the relationship between them and that was pretty much it. I also found it disheartening that there wasn't really a "take-away", at least, that I got out of it (besides the definite decision to never, ever consider climbing Everest). Just a dramatization of what happened and roll credits.
Two nights ago, though, I was surprised by The Amazing Spider-Man (aka the Andrew Garfield one). I like it much better than the original Macguire ones in almost every way, but I understand that there are those who prefer Macguire over Garfield. (Personally, I'm hoping Holland (aka the one in Civil War) will blow the other two out of the water.)
(I prefer Garfield's Spiderman over Macguire's, too, though I haven't seen enough of both to be able to be completely accurate in my decision. 😛 )
Aha! I have been watching a TON of Marvel while I was away! Agents of SHIELD is interesting, but not enough for my tastes. Guardians of the Galaxy was good, though. WAY too much language. WAY TOO MUCH. But, other than that, great plot and all. I have seen all the Iron Man, Captain America, and nearly half of the first Thor, Both Avengers, and I am not remembering anything else if there was.
I have now also seen all four Pirates of the Caribbean. The fourth is traumatizing.
Got any suggestions as to what I should watch next from Marvel?
How much of Agents of Shield have you watched? 'Cause if you stopped at season one, I promise it gets better. (Warning for some darker elements and some increase in the clearly-implied adult content.)
Well, you've seen all three Cap movies by the sound of it, so I'm satisfied. 😉 I like Ant-Man, but I do have to mention it's got more noticeable language that most Marvel films (dunno how it stands up to Guardians of the Galaxy, though, as I've not seen it). Maybe check with PluggedIn to get a picture of the language there.
@Ariel I only saw like, four episodes. I found them not quite to my taste. If you are worried about language, Ant Man was NOTHING compared to Guardians of the Galaxy. Lol. The language was more than I had ever seen before. Twice that, as well.
Agents of Shield season one stinks. There's no question about it. A couple episodes are okay, but the rest of them are scattered and deliver poorly on everything but character. If you don't want to keep going, that's totally fine. (I only did 'cause I was bored and did end up liking the characters enough to give season two a chance.) After the season one finale, the show finally figured out what it was and where it was going.
*whistles* And here I was thinking Ant-Man was the worst so far.
*decides not to mention the Deadpool movie*
Of all the movies I've seen (ever!), "The King's Speech" has had the most language, and I thought it couldn't be beaten until I read the parental guide for Deadpool. Then I changed my mind. Deadpool is worse by far.
.....Whyyyyy do people do this????? 😥
I felt like this^ belonged here.
@hobbit: Definitely the case (especially since you can just mute those two King's Speech scenes!). Deadpool is notorious for his overkill violence, overused language, over-the-top crassness, and breaking the fourth wall. Only one of these is actually charming. 😉 I don't recommend watching (or reading) Deadpool ever.
*approves of Cap pic but is disappointed with the spelling* 😛
I definitely should have looked it up online before watching it, but hindsight is always 20/20, so...
Yeah, I thought about remaking it (I found it online, so...the spelling isn't my fault or autocorrect's fault this time), but I didn't get around to it.
Hehe you are all great. I do wish Marvel had a few more limitations in their movies. I just might watch season two of AoS now though. Thor is great so far, and that is like halfway into it.
Hallmark Channel. Christmas movies. That's about all we've been watching. 😀
@jesusgirl4ever lol. I bet most people are getting into Christmas shows this time of year. What do you watch? I have not celebrated Christmas for about 11 years, so I have no clew what is out there.
Mostly romantic comedy type thingies. 😛
