Doctor Strange was one of the films I most enjoyed watching in 3D. It was like it was all about the effects and not so much about the storyline (which was basically the White Witch teaching Sherlock how to be an interdimentional monk guy).

Once a daughter of Eve. Now a daughter of the Second Adam.

For the record, "Cloak and Dagger" (Marvel's new TV show) is not TLC-friendly. The story has a decent start, but there are mature themes. Just in case anyone was wondering.

@Ariel, maybe post this in the Marvel thread as well? I don't know.

What I have been watching? mostly the animated kids show "Avengers Assemble". It's been fun.

Good idea, Lil.

I couldn’t do Avengers Assemble, myself. Maybe ‘cause Earth’s Mightiest Heroes spoiled me, lol.

I've been watching Avengers Assemble, too, but it's nowhere near as good as Earth's Mightiest Heroes.

That's funny you say that because I'm having a hard time getting into Earth's Mightiest Heroes. But I think I can agree to disagree graciously 😛

To each our own. 😀
On that note, I’m waiting for Young Justice season three.

So, last night I saw Christopher Robin. It was a wonderful movie. In fact, I think that it might have been Disney's best since Frozen (which was one of my favorites), and best live-action since...maybe even LWW.

I won't go into the plot too much because spoilers, but I will say that they managed to capture the magic of Winnie-the-Pooh. Pooh was as lovable and optimistic as always, and his little nuggets of wisdom mixed in well with his comedic moments. None of the other residents of the Hundred-Acre Wood had changed either, and they manage to teach Christopher an important lesson.

What's even better is that they didn't feel the need to dirty up this movie so that the adults will want to go see it. There were no curse words apart from one muffled "Lord" (*glares pointedly at Incredibles 2*) and no sexual content apart from a dance and a few kisses. It was just so great to see a movie that was wholesome and clean.

In short, I would recommend this movie to everyone, and I hope that it does well at the box office so that Disney, and Hollywood in general, will see that people will indeed go see clean movies.

Basically, Christopher Robin is a great movie; go see it. I'm sure that you will enjoy your expedition with this silly old bear. 😀

Okay, now I’m even more excited to see it. Thanks, Jaygee.

EDIT: Okay, everything that Jaygee said, plus, “Watching a full-grown man play with stuffed animals should not hit me so hard in the feels, but it did.”

I just recently started watching "The Flash". There's some stuff in there that I really wish they'd left out, but other than that I'm really enjoying it. 🙂

I watched A Wrinkle In Time. I'd read the book a couple times years ago, but unfortunately I can't remember enough to speak to the accuracy of this movie adaption (I had read that it had removed some of the references to Christianity). I did really like the relationships in Meg's family and how they stand up for each other and also that even though Meg is the main character, she's not always the bravest. I also like that it promotes being smart. The main negatives I saw were a suggestive comment and a number of references to being "One with the universe."

Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. If you really knew Me, you would know My Father as well." - John 14:6-7a

Sounds about right, Hermit! (I must admit I've only read reviews of it, and never seen the movie or read the book.) I do remember the general consensus of what I'd read was that it wasn't at like the book, that they'd left out the christianity and some important parts that made the story work and turned it into a generic magic story about 'finding yourself' and growing up and all that. Perhaps Plugged In Movies would be a good resource for those curious?

I read the book "A Wrinkle in Time" this year and haven't gotten around to the movie yet. Thanks for the review Hermit, I'll probably be watching it sometime in the near future.

As far as removing the references to Christianity...that doesn't surprise me. For one, it's Disney, I expect that from them. But also, the Christianity in Wrinkle in Time is....really unorthodox. It's really weird. In the context of a work of literature it works fine, it adds to the scope and color and background and adds some depth to the light vs. dark narrative. But on the other hand Disney didn't have to stretch too far to go to "One with the universe". Wrinkle in Time defiantly skews towards the mystic side of Christianity, more Charles Williams than C.S. Lewis.
