Interesting. I have heard about Downtown Abbey, but not much. I don't know what I should watch next.
PM me when your favorite character dies Ela, I don't know when or who it is but it'll probably happen.
Watch North and South on Netflix 😛 Or Jane Eyre, that was pretty good.
I do not have anything but a library right now. you know, those big buildings that are usually made of bricks, and have paper things called books, and dvds and vhs. vhs is a plastic box like thing that you put into a thing that looks like a big dvd player for a really thick dvd, if you were wondering. 😀 😀
Libraries often have a great assortment of visual media: I think you may be able to find North and South. 🙂 If not that, I'm sure there are other historical based films around. I don't recall any that I would recommend, but I'll be sure to bring it up if I happen across one.
So, I'm finished with season 4 of Downton.
Edwardian Farm and Tales from the Green Valley were both really really good.
@Ela: Ai, you're blasting through those. 🙂
@Pev: Don't remember if you said anything about mysteries, but the Poirot mysteries are good. Just finished watching two. 🙂
@Pev: I'll have to see where I can watch Edwardian Farm; it looks so interesting.
@Ariel: That I am, that I am. It's now another fandom I must tend to... even if one of my faves had to die in a horrid way.
Started season 5. Hopefully I can finish it before the end of the week since the current season 6 is airing now.
Wait... people die in horrid ways on Downton Abbey?!
Well, I thought so, at least the death I'm referring to. 😛
I'm curious now. 🙂
Oh yes, they do die in horrid ways. Realistically-ish at least.
I'm done with season five now and since my sister and I are caught up together we're going to watch season six together.
Should I start a Downton Abey Thread?
@Tooky: Sure, but I don't think there would be many others joining in. 🙂
Ooh, I used to watch Downton Abbey. Then I got kinda busy and found the storyline a bit tedious - I'll probably marathon it sometime after the final season is concluded. (I've only seen seasons 2-4, I think.)
Just finished Mr Holmes (with Ian McKellan). And was rather surprised. I knew, well, remembered is the better word, certain elements, but I was still surprised. Pleasantly so.
Ha, Sherlock alive in 1947. By the time Susan meets Dr Watson and Father Brown, Sherlock is already dead (but was received into Catholic Church by Father Brown first) - but that is early to mid fifties. In my fan fic.
