Oh, yikes, poor grammar in a published book? *dies*
@Quilly No, I haven't read Divergent or seen he movie, but if I do I think I will probably read the book first Which one did you like better? I love the Boy in Striped Pajamas! I haven't read the whole book just the first few chapters but the movie was really good! It was a little sad, but since you haven't heard of it I won't give you any spoilers!
@Ariel *revives*
I only read the first book of Divergent. It was okay. I guess it wasn't exactly my style. And it didn't help that I did not like the main character, Tris, at all. 😛 But yes, the plot was interesting but how it was written out and portrayed just didn't get to me. 🙄
@cor: Awesome! I want to check that out, thanks!
Finished LOTR and loved them! 🙂
Yay Shi! I'm currently reading it aloud to my brothers.
I'm about to start taking a LOTR class at our co-op and we'll be reading Fellowship 😀
I'm learning how to summarize a book for the literature class my dad is doing with me, so he's having me do a summary and a synopsis of LOTR. I don't mind too much. 😛
I'm also reading the Silmarillion. 😯 It's...confusing, to say the least.
Just read Dauntless by Dina L. Sleiman. Highly recommended!
Hobbit, don't feel too intimidated by The Silmarillion. The first time I tried to read it, I gave up (I think it was due back at the library and I just took it back). The second time, I got through but was very confused. The index of names, family trees and other stuff at the back is really helpful, so make use of them as much as you can. Also the map; although it doesn't show Valinor or Angmar so for a long time that confused me. Also if you're confused that it doesn't look like the Middle Earth from Rings and the Hobbit, it's because it doesn't. The stuff in those stories happens mostly to the east and stuff happens that changes what the continent looks like.
The third time I read it it made a lot more sense and I got through it in record time. I could finally follow who most of the people where and what was going on. Now I read it in a couple days and its my favourite Tolkien work. That might not happen quite the same for you but what I'm saying is I'm glad I got through it and went back to it and didn't just throw it aside because it was confusing 😛
Once a daughter of Eve. Now a daughter of the Second Adam.
I tried to read the Silmarillion and failed miserably. (Although I hope to tackle it again eventually...)
I finally finished The Princess Bride and started on The Adventures of Tom Sawyer.
The Princess Bride was really good, although I would rather just watch the movie (something you will NEVER hear me say ever again) because it's more concise and has less plot holes.
I'm reading Pilgrims Progress. (not my idea)
Finished The Maze Runner and started on The Scorch Trials. I really like the concept of the series (and I much prefer it to Divergent), although I wish they were slightly less violent.
Is anyone else doing the Goodreads 2015 Reading Challenge?
Have started re-reading all of Wayne Batson's books. I'm done with The Berinfell Prophecies and Dreamtreaders, and I've just started the second book of The Door Within trilogy.
@smaug: Pilgrim's Progress is good. Tough and perhaps slow, from what I remember, but still a good read.
I won't be reading either for a while, but I purchased War Horse and The Book Thief today! 😀
The Book thief is sooooo good! I started reading it but I wasn't able to finish it before we had to return it. 🙁 We couldn't renew it either 🙁 Oh well
