@Pev: makes sense. I can be that way. (Except for Narnia and Passages and Sherwood Pictures films....)
Finished Too Many Cooks last night. 🙂
@pev: yeah, if i'm forced to do anything i will absolutely despise it.
Just about to start The Scriptures Testify About Me by DA Carson.
If you like a lot of laughs from a short read, then try The Mad Scientist Club.
It is a short children's chapter book, that I had stomach pain from laughing do much from. I really recommend it.
So my best friend sent me book 1 of Andrew Peterson's Wingfeather Saga for my birthday/Christmas. I know a bunch of people here have read them, so I'm looking forward to finally finding out what it's all about.
She also sent me 100 Cupboards by ND Wilson, which I have not heard of before, so that will be interesting.
Once a daughter of Eve. Now a daughter of the Second Adam.
@Ajjie: Awesome!! Those books are rather cool.
Has anyone read The Door Within series, besides me? CAUSE THEY HAVE TO BE ONE OF MY FAVORITES NOW.
@Pev: no, i haven't.
i hope it's okay to mention that i've started Harry Potter and i really like it, as long as i don't say anything else...:?
Started reading the Politically Incorrect Guide to American History. *grins broadly*
@Feather: OH well you need to! It is a MUST READ. I hold it up there on my list along with Tolkien's works. In a different way of course.
@Ariel: Ahhh that sounds hilarious. I should look into that. XD
@Pev: Ooh, I've read Door Within! It's amazing!
@Jaygee: Awesome! It is so up there on my favs list!
*edit a long time later because I don't want to double-post 😕 *
So I have now read the Maze Runner series!!!! Woooo!!!1
I HIGHLY recommend it if you don't mind being freaked out and getting a lot of feels. 😀 😀
AND I have read the first book of Ranger's Apprentice. I LOVE IT. I CANNOT WAIT TO READ MORE.
Another series I am HIGHLY recommending! 🙂
I read a book Animas Book 1. It is a story where everyone in the society empathizes with an animal. For most people, this simply means feeling the emotions of whichever species is their "kin," however, some can even see what the animal is seeing. The main character is the only person in the society who can't find his "kin," leaving him to rumors and speculation of others. The antagonist forces animals to do whatever she wants and is trying to take over the society.
Even though I really liked the first book, I don't think I will read the second because one of the teachers smokes some sort of addictive substance in class instead of teaching. I was not expecting to find this in a "tween" book. Also, the plot became somewhat predictable. Another downside is that the main character sometimes skips class to try to find his kin in the woods or ask about history, although he is usually pretty moral.
Anunknownpevensie, it's good you like those books, Luthien, my sister, has read about ten of them, they must be hard to put down!
I also read The Door Within about seven years ago. I liked it a lot.
Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. If you really knew Me, you would know My Father as well." - John 14:6-7a
I read the Maze Runner and...meh.
Thomas and Theresa were boring, the plot wasn't predictable, but it wasn't clever either. Like I expected it to go one way and then it went another way and instead of being surprised I would just think "Oh. The way that I thought it was going to go would have actually been better." Now, if the book was about Newt it might have been a lot better.
Reading "The Pursuit of God," trying also to get back into the Space Trilogy, and started listening to "The Scarlet Pinpernel" on audio.
