I just finished reading a short book called, "The Lion and the Land of Narnia" which is illustrated and compiled by Robert Cording. My friend was cleaning out her room, found it, and gave it to me. It's a beautiful book! Gorgeous paintings of scenes from Narnia, along with letters from Lewis, and letters from many people about how they discovered and fell in love with Narnia. It awakened such wonderful feelings in me. If you can get your hands on this book, do so. I highly recommend it!!!

(I'm also re-reading LB now)

I'm beginning to read Narnia again. Finished LWW and halfway through PC. I think I'll read them in the order they were written this time. 🙂

Just finished The Princess Spy, Melanie Dickerson's new book. New as in just-came-out-Tuesday new. And I absolutely adored it! The fairytale was harder to figure out than the others, but I finally got it. 😀

@Ariel: If you ever do (which you should; they're amazing!), read The Merchant's Daughter first, then The Healer's Apprentice, then The Fairest Beauty, then The Captive Maiden, then The Princess Spy. They make the most sense that way. 😀

I'm halfway through The Chronicles of Prydain, by Lloyd Alexander. I absolutely love them! The characters are really funny, and the second book in particular is really good with its strong theme of self-sacrifice. It nearly made me cry. And it did make me moan in pain for the poor main character. 🙁
Note: Lloyd Alexander was not a Christian writer, or at least that I know of. His books include A LOT of magic and some fairly intense violence (if you'd like to know exactly what kind of magic and violence, just PM me.)

Now I've started re-re-re-re-re-re-reading the Allon series by Shawn Lamb. (I think I've mentioned it before... 😀 ) It's still amazing the... 12th? Maybe? time around.

It's been awhile since I've had my nose in a book. Hopefully that should pick up again once finals are over.
I've been reading more graphic novels in my mix than is typical for me this year. Some quite good, some a little messier than I thought I was in for. Also looking at some YA slice-of-life and some science fiction, and a little bit of factual historical. More updates to come when I'm no longer putting them on hold. 😉

Those have been on my list to re-read since I went to Oxford. I need to just fork out and buy myself a copy of OotSP, because it's hard to find in the libraries (our local library has multiple copies of the other two).

I just recently finished Lost Tales part 2 (I read part 1 about a year ago). It's a compilation of early versions of the elvish stories that would later become part of the Silmarillion. The mythologies and stories have changed drastically by the time of the Silm (the jewels aren't actually that important in the original tales). There are some crazy differences like Beren being an elf and the Valar having children. It's been really interesting but I don't recommend it unless you've read (and can remember the stories) in the Silmarillion (although Christopher Tolkien does give discussions after each chapter in which he discusses significant and interesting differences).

I'm now reading the biography of Malala Yousafzi, the girl who was shot by the Taliban for standing up for women's education in Pakistan, which I was given for Christmas. It's really educational about the history and political situations in Pakistan. If I thought we had things badly in South Africa compared to first world countries, it's nowhere near as bad as the conditions some of these people live in.

Once a daughter of Eve. Now a daughter of the Second Adam.

Finished Perelandra. Has anyone else noticed that there are a lot of parallels between Perelandra and MN? There's even a line that's almost exactly the same (the one about what you see depending on where you're standing)!
