@ Tenny: ?????????????????! 😯 ...what?
Duck who's thinking about how the "end of the world" is in the east in Narnia and the west in Middle Earth...and you get to both of them by crossing the sea...and that's starting all sorts of other weird ideas in my head...*sigh* I have the oddest thoughts when I'm lying in bed with nothing else to do.
WHACK! Please either write a poem or a little story about two little kids, a mouse, and Thanksgiving! *shrugs* Sorry If that's not a legal whack!
*checks* Nope, seems legal to me.
The door cracked open a little and an eager face peeked in.
"Psst! Ed!"
"Go away. I'm asleep!"
"No you're not!" Lucy giggled and tiptoed over to her brother's bed. "Shh! Hurry and get up!"
"Why?" he asked groggily. "I just was about to fall asleep."
Lucy laughed merrily. "I know, but come on!" She grabbed his hand and pulled. "Mum's gone and there's half a pumpkin pie left from dinner; let's have another slice, shall we? Just a little one."
Edmund bounced up quickly enough. "Yeah!" They tiptoed down the stairs into the kitchen and Lucy got the pie out. As they were eating, they heard a little rustle on the counter and looked up to see a brown mouse nosing around.
"Aww," Lucy crooned. "He looks just like the captain of the mouse guard at the Cair."
"Only a lot smaller," Edmund commented.
"He looks hungry," Lucy said, "poor thing. I'll give him a little of my pie crust."
"He won't let you get close to him," Edmund said.
"Yes he will; watch." Lucy took a tiny piece of pie crust in her hand and slowly approached the little animal, humming softly. The mouse seemed unable to move until she had put the crust in front of it, then retreated and stopped humming. It eagerly grabbed the pie crust in its delicate paws and started nibbling at it.
"See? I knew it wouldn't be scared of me!" Lucy said triumphantly.
"How did you do that?" Edmund asked in wonder.
"I think it was the song."
"What was it?" Edmund asked.
"I'll never tell," she said mischievously, "but it's a Narnian lullaby, and it's supposed to be played on a faun's flute." She laughed to see his confused expression and quickly finished her pie. "Well, I'm going back to bed now. Happy Thanksgiving, Ed! Goodnight!" And she skipped off, leaving her brother in a very puzzled state of mind.
Yeah, so it's a fanfic. Whatever. Supposed to take place shortly after the Pevensies' first visit to Narnia, so that Edmund and Lucy still clarify as "little".
That's great Hobbit! 😀
