NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! I don't want her to die!! (And it's not 'cause I like her character. 😉 )
*sighs*
I agree. I had the same reaction. I want her to live on and on and on and wallow in sorrow. (Did I just say that out loud?)
I just hope they don't add insult to injury by making Kili die trying to save her neck. Or vice versa. Or making her die trying to protect Thorin after Kili dies (epic as that would be). *headdesks, groans, and sighs simultaneously* Let's hope this movie doesn't make me cry like DoS did. Tears produced by the inner groanings at the awfulness of the pairing and the hilarity at the utter cheesiness of the glowing - I mean, healing - scene....
Dear PJ,
You could have made me love Tauriel if you didn't try to make a pairing that's supposed to remind us of the superior romance between Aragorn and Arwen.
*headdeskslam*
I have been thinking she was going to die— because what would be the explanation that she is nowhere in Lord of the Rings and Legolas had "liked' her and everything? I mean, she would still be alive unless she died in battle. Your speculations have been much like mine: I am worried they will make her die trying to save Kili or some such to that extent, and they both end up dying. I DON'T want that. I want Fili and Kili to die defending Thorin, as it should be!
*nods firmly, agreeing with Ann* Well said. I think Kili and Fili should die like they should. It would be kinda lame if Kili died while being defended and he should die with Fili, defending Thorin. (It is way cooler, and they need to build the relationship between them all. Especially Fili and Kili.
Has anyone seen the new posters that have been released this past week? There is one of Bilbo, Gandalf, Galadriel, and Legolas. Maybe this is a lead up to the trailer! 😀
*would hugtackle the Bilbo one... except that Sting is kind of pointed in my direction...* 😆
The Legolas one is from another promotional picture I saw some time ago. Bard looks amazing. Galadriel looks... white. Gandalf looks old... and grey... and beat up. 😆 And Bilbo. I could still hugtackle him.
@Ariel You might not want to hugtackel him he's got a sword pointed out! AAAAAAAAH! I love posters! (Only good ones) And yeah Ela, I saw the banner. It's really cool, but some parts on it are like "Whhhha? What are they doing now!?!?!
@cor: yeah, I'm not sure he (or I) would appreciate my hugtackling him right now. 😀
*would hugtackle the Bilbo one... except that Sting is kind of pointed in my direction...* 😆
Back when the first poster was released for Unexpected Journey, there were some people discussing it on a podcast. It was also around when the first movie trailer had come out and they were speculating what the role of Radagast's hedgehogs would be. Which led someone to make a joke about the poster for the third film being of the hedgehog (they didn't yet know his name was Sebastian) making his way single-handedly to Dol Guldur to exact revenge on the Necromancer. Someone hearing this drew up a mock of the suggested poster:

So the first thing I thought when I saw the poster of Bilbo released is "I was expecting a poster of a hedgehog holding Sting." My next thought was, "Oh wait, that's exactly what it is!" 😉
(that joke will only make sense if you know about the "Martin Freeman is a hedgehog" thing. If you don't, you can google it 😛 )
Once a daughter of Eve. Now a daughter of the Second Adam.
OH MY WORD! That is hilarious! And yes, I have seen the Martin Freeman/hedgehog thing!
Yeah I've seen the new posters. One of Tauriel came out today.... 😛
@Ajjie: Aww, cute! But also funny. 😀
There's a Thranduil one! Tomorrow we should be seeing another of Bilbo.
@Ajjie: haha, that's funny! (I hadn't heard of Martin-is-a-hedgie, but it sounds curious.)
Ooh, there's a Thranduil one?! *goes to look it up... and Tauriel while I'm at it*
