Yes I agree, I love Legolas and all but I don't think that he needs to be doing everything! And Tauriel, well I have been trying to wait for the movie so I don't pre-judge her but all the news I am getting about her just makes me want to tell her GET OUT OF THE MOVIE, but who knows she may turn out all-right *prays her role will only take 10 minutes of screen-time* 😛
I also heard she will heal a young girl in lake-town, which I guess since she is an elf she could do it but still it isn't needed.
I guess the reason I am most uncomfortable with her is that first off she isn't needed as a LEAD I mean if she was just there doing her duty fine, but if she was a male captain I am SURE the part would have been reduced to a minimal role.
Also what's with all this romance! First it's Kili then it's Legolas, and now its Thranduil! Can't she settle for one man! 🙄 I don't know but the Arwen/Aragorn, Eowyn/Faramir, Sam/Rosie were sweet and were WRITTEN BY TOLKIEN but really, Tauriel gets a romance we don't even know her!!! I don't know but to me she's screaming MARY-SUE and I DON'T LIKE IT!

But I know exactly what you're saying, Eria. I've read summaries of too many LotR fics about elf warrior girls to think that Tauriel sounds like another Sue. Hopefully she won't be. Hopefully they will make her unique and different and keep that romance to a minimum. There's already a slue of Tauriel + Kili/Thorin/Legolas (whoever!) fanfictions out there. *shudders* Can't fans write decent stuff? I have yet to find a decent Hobbit fanfiction. I gave up looking. 😛

And after I said that I hadn't found any, I had to go browse fanfiction in a last effort to find some good stories. I did find a couple silly ones about the dwarves, and one really cute one about Galadriel, Celeborn and a little girl elf named Tauriel, but the story was written in 2004, so I don't think it's referring to PJ's Tauriel.

What!?!??! Thranduil? That is totally weird! I hope that doesn't happen! I really think they're making the elves a lot bigger than they should be in the movie! =P

Hey, I wrote a short fan fiction on Kili and Fili's deaths if anyone is interested in reading that.

Anyone else still worried about how Beorn is going to be?

I am, from the look of his picture yikes!
But I have some possible theories that may happen but until we see the movie I guess we'll not know 😛
Ok so first off we do have an official image of Beorn's back. I also have seen a pic of his face, although it is quite fuzzy so it's hard to make out any specific details. Although it looks as if he has his hair growing along the side of his face, sort of a beard but not? :/ Since it is fuzzy it is hard to make out. I also heard that his ponies, the ones mentioned in the book, will be played by Gypsy Vanner's I find them rather beautiful.
Also, from the trailer we see a bear/warg looking creature after the company, them trying to hold it back. I am pretty sure it is Beorn but again I can't say it is fact. In one of the vlogs PJ released last year, there is footage of Gandalf, I believe Fili in one shot, well the entire company running into what is Beorn's house. To me, combined with the trailer footage, it seems as if Beorn spots the company and is provoked into chasing after them, they then run as fast as they can into his house, causing what we saw take place in the trailer. Again it's just fact mixed with speculation. 😀
I also don't know if it is Beorn for sure, but if he does chase them I wonder why? Does Ori slingshot a rock :P? Or maybe they overslept and look so terrible they resemble orks or goblins? I don't know but your guess would be as good as mine 🙂

Yes, I am worried about Beorn. He's a character that I really enjoyed in the books and I've been looking forward to seeing him until I saw that picture... For a while since there was no news of him, I was worried that they were somehow going to cut him from the movie (because honestly, they could pick up some supplies somewhere along the way, and they don't need the ponies since they didn't take the ponies into the forest anyhow) so I am glad that Beorn will be included.

The other thought I have about Beorn. How do you pronounce it? I've always pronounced it "Bee-orn" but I've been hearing other people call him "Bay-orn." How do you prefer to say it?

Yeah I don't know where they are going with Beorn. It seems weird that they would just be in his house and he was trying to break into the door. But that's what it looks like to me.

The company meets Beorn as they do in the book, maybe not two at a time, but something like that. After they've met him they eat merrily and later go to sleep. As for the scene in the trailer, I thought it would be nice if that was actually Bilbo's dream and he gets shaken awake by Bofur when it becomes too intense. I know that this idea is highly unlikely but that's just how I would like the Beorn scene to go.

As for the pronunciation I have always said Bay-orn. Not sure why but I guess I liked the sound of it better.
