Wasn't his motivation because the dragons destroyed the life he knew and maimed him? But he doesn't have a reason for conquering people...

Hmm interesting. I could see that as Valka's reasoning.

You just blew my mind. 😛 Well, kinda.
I never would have thought of that but it does make sense. Maybe it would also explain why there are so few of them if they can be easily overtaken by the other dragons.

Aww.... that song. Nope you're not the only one.

Yeah, I don't remember anything on his motivation against people. Or dragons, for that matter, but I've only seen it once. 🙂

Knew I was forgetting a factor! Yes, I'd thought of the general lack of night furies as well. 🙂 *wishes she had time to write that fic... and half a dozen others that need writing....*

So I just saw HTTYD1 for the first time Tuesday night, and just saw HTTYD2 tonight (or last night, considering the time 😉 ).
I liked both of them! I thought I liked the first one better but I'm not really sure. I did think the second was a little more creepy.
I love Hiccup and Toothless in both of them!
I love in the first moivie the whole process of Hiccup trying to win Toothless over.
Oh my yes that scene when Stoick died was so sad - the fact that Toothless did it and then when Hiccup was yelling at him and pushing him away (I don't blame him, I probably would have done the same thing.) but it was sad 🙁
I love the bit near the beginning when Hiccup is imitating Stoick and Astrid is imitating Hiccup. Hilarious 🙂
Sooooo yep. 🙂

Yay!! 😀 Glad you liked them, Shi! (Did the "Forbidden Friendship" scene (from the regurgitated fish till the hand-on-nose moment) give you all sorts of feels? It was that scene that made me go, "Yup, SO glad I decided to watch this movie!")
I'm still on the fence regarding which one I like better (again, it'll take a few more viewings of both before I determine that), but I might be leaning toward HTTYD1. Maybe. 🙂

May I be welcomed to the HTTYD Fandom? I've always wanted to see the first one since it came out and I just recently saw it! I loved both of them so much! It's hard to decide which is better, they just seem to be both part of the same story. 🙂

Hiccup is my favourite. 🙂

*throws a massive welcome-to-the-HTTYD-fandom party for always!* 😀
You're right, Hiccup's great. They did great things with his character and I love it! (And the voice! Can't get much better than that!)

Yay Shi and Ann! 😀 Both movies are awesome and it's great to have other people enjoy them as much!
I love Hiccup and Toothless as a team and friends, I mean, one without the other just isn't the same. 😛

HEE 😀 Welcome to the HTTYD Fandom Ann and Shi!!!
I too loved both movies so much, and as for the sequel, it did blend together smoothly with the first ^.^

Yes, one without the other just wouldn't be right XD

Yay we have a good team of HTTYD fans!

I can't wait until the third one comes out!

I have always loved learning about Vikings, so this was even doubly exciting for me!

Thanks guys 🙂
I've seen them both twice now and like them both but I might be leaning towards 2. I'm not sure. They do go together very smoothly though, which is nice. Some 2nds don't do the first justice. If that makes sense. 🙂
Ariel, yes I love that scene. I love when Hiccup's sitting close to Toothless & he looks up at him, and then when he tries to reach out to touch him & he looks up and Hiccup like turns around and walks away, pretending he's not doing anything. (Sorry that is probably not well explained, I hope you know what I'm all king about.) And then when he looks away touches his nose. 🙂

@Elanor and Eria: They're incomplete without each other. And I'm not just talking about Hiccup's gadgetry that allows Toothless to fly. 😀 Such a beautiful friendship. *fangirls a little inside*
@always: Well, I wouldn't count on HTTYD for education on Vikings. 😉
@Shi: Don't worry, I figured out which bit you were talking about! That part is both cute and funny! (Kudos to the animators!)

O, I'm not saying you can be educated on Vikings from the films, but, being interested in Vikings, I enjoy the little pieces you can tell are Viking- like the runes.

*grins* I want to decipher that book if only to see if it's gibberish in places we don't know what it says or if they're actual words, but I've never gotten around to it.

Haha I did that with morse code once in Tintin! Surprisingly, it was completely what it was supposed to say. Sometimes these film people really pay attention to detail.

I know, right? I love it when they do that!
(btw, love the set!)
