Camicazi isn't in book two, so I wouldn't imagine that book!Stormfly was introduced in book two. I don't remember exactly when Stormfly is introduced. I haven't read the books in several years.

Oh. She must have been in book three then. I know I read one book with her in it. Something about a Roman fortress.

Yup, that would be book 3. I think I read through book 4, and didn't have time with school to finish the series, but my younger siblings have read every single book and told me about them.

*Tries to not read things in this thread yet*
I finally saw the first HtTyD yesterday - I have the sequel available too and will watch it soon.

Did anyone else find it rather odd that all of the adults in the movie had Viking/Scottish accents, while the kids all had American ones?

@Shield: The How It Should Have Ended of HTTYD2 remarked on that. 😛

I think the new Netflix show was released today, (I saw a trailer for it in the cinema).

Yeah, Race for the Edge came out today. I'll have to see if I can find it somewhere besides Netflix in a couple days. All I know is that Heather is involved and she's got a dragon we haven't seen before.

Edit: found it. 🙂

Just finished the second one. I must say I liked it better than the first one. I am now desperate for my own dragon.
About halfway through I noticed that Hiccup's mom's voice sounded familiar.....I had no idea Cate Blanchette did stuff with Dreamworks!

😀 Hurrah! (I know, right? I want either a Night Fury or a Changewing (the latter of which only shows up in the tv show).)
Haha, I know. Galadriel is Hiccup's mom (and Cinderella's stepmom...).

Edit: Episode 8 explains how Stoick got Skullcrusher. 🙂

Speaking of the TV show (Race to the Edge? That's what it's called?) - should I watch it? Is it available on YouTube or other mediums other than Netflix? What is it about (vaguely, no spoilers please! ;))

Each season has a different subtitle title, really, (the main title is "Dragons") and I recommend watching "Riders of Berk" and "Defenders of Berk" (aka seasons 1&2) before watching "Race to the Edge". There are characters here that only feature in the show and some critical things that happen in Race to the Edge depend on previous knowledge.
The entire show (except season four, when it comes out) takes place between the two movies, with Race to the Edge being about two years before HTTYD2. There's a bunch of exploring new places, meeting other Vikings (both in Berk and from outside), cataloging new dragons, and going up against a few antagonists (mostly humans).
As for recommending the show, you're not really missing out on much because despite how good the movies are, the TV show doesn't come near the same standard. But, that said, if you want to see more of the Berkians you've come to know and love, go for it. There's character development, over-arching plots, a few surprises, and plenty of new dragons.
I don't know about availability on YouTube, but if you are interested, I can tell you where I go to watch it.

Hiccup's first two attempts at the flight suit feature in episode 12 of Race to the Edge.

As for this season... well, it doesn't end right. It builds and builds, especially where one antagonist is concerned, but then the season just... ends. No climax. The antagonist spends a couple scattered episodes building his strength, but nothing comes of it by the end of the season. I can forgive the iffy writing because of how disappointed and unsatisfied I am with the way the seasons ends (/ technically-doesn't-end). Riders and Defenders of Berk, though they suffered the same mediocre writing, at least had proper season climaxes. (Funny thing is? In the last episode, Ruffnut and Tuffnut (randomly) wax poetic for the entire episode, yattering on about drama and plots and twists and story... which is what the season itself failed to deliver on in the end. 😛 )
But anyway. Despite all that, I've decided on a third- and fourth-favourite dragon. First being NIght Fury (obviously 😉 ), second being Changewing (camouflages so well, it's practically invisible), third being Razor Whip (metallic, sharp-cutting wings (like a Timberjack), slashing tail with projectile spines (like a Nadder), and fourth being Speed Stinger (... like... mini-t-rex but really fast and equipped with paralyzing venom in its tail).
OH! And Tuffnut makes friends with a chicken. That chicken is seriously my fourth-favourite character (after Toothless, Hiccup, and Astrid). I love that chicken. Definitely one thing they did right.

HttYD 3 scheduled for 2018! (I have no idea if this is new news or anything, but I'm super pumped about it and only just found out myself, so I thought I'd share.)
I also found out that the TV shows are mixed in with some short movies and the like - does anyone know what chronological order they're in? I would LOVE to watch them but I don't want to get the timeline mixed up. 😛
Also, (again, I don't know what has been mentioned here before) I recently found and joined School of Dragons - the HttYD MMORGP, which is absolutely fantastic.

Not really new news, but hey, what's a reminder? 😀 I'm excited for it.

Let's see... chronology goes something like this:
HTTYD 1
The Book of Dragons (short film)
Legend of the Boneknapper Dragon (short film)
Gift of the Night Fury (short film)
Dragons: Riders of Berk (TV show, season 1)
Dragons: Defenders of Berk (TV show, season 2)
Dawn of the Dragon Racers (short film)
Dragons: Race to the Edge (TV show, season 3, Netflix)
HTTYD 2
HTTYD 3

I don't know if there'll be another season of the show between now and #3. I thought there would be, but I don't see anything about it.

I used to play School of Dragons! And then real life happened....
