Correct. Twins are assigned just like any other role. Mayor is the only role that isn't assigned.

Yes. Twins are told who the other twin is as well as what faction they are.

BTW, if one twin is mafia and the other is an innocent they can win the game by themselves if they manage to survive together.

Basically the point is you'll likely both be innocents and you're goal is to make sure that the others don't vote off your twin 😛
