I wonder how many languages all my friends know collectively...it's probably quite a few.
Shasta!
@Dilly: wow, Indonesian isn't one that I've heard of anyone studying. That's neat!
I know English and a few scattered words in random other languages. I used to speak my mom's mother tongue, but lost it in kindergarten.
Shasta
I know 😀

@Dilly: So because I'm curious, why Indonesian?
Shasta
It was compulsory from years 5-8 at my school, and during that time I developed a sort of fondness for it and so I continued to do it. Now, I can't imagine *not* studying it. Plus, since I've been studying it for so long now, I guess it's just become a safe haven of sorts.

That's way cool. I grew up in a 99.9%-English-speaking place, with that remaining .1% being German. So I know a little bit of German, and then there was that one Spanish course I technically took when I was in grade school (and forgot most of it), and I tried Greek and Latin but didn't get far in either (I want to pick them up again sometime), and I know a few phrases of Elvish (Quenya and Sindarin, and I mix them up terribly), and then there's Korean. But other than that, I'm afraid I haven't studied languages much. Which is a shame, because I love languages.
Shasta is trying to learn Italian rapier fencing but is discovering that it's a difficult thing to learn without an instructor. 😆
Sounds like it would be, yes.
Shasta only speaks English fluently, but she could possibly get by in Spanish and ASL, if that counts. Does that count as another language?
ASL...we'll count that as a language. Why not. 😉 *sort of adds it to my list because, although I'm awful at it, I did learn a few hundred words once upon a time*
Shasta now "knows" the six basic steps and four basic guards of Italian fencing. I'm 99% positive that my form is bad enough to make any fencing instructor laugh himself silly, but at least I know what the names for the steps/guards mean. 😛
Languages are a passion of mine and my goal I life is to learn as many as possible, however difficult that task might be. 😛
Right now I am a B2/C1 level in German, since I spend the majority of my time working with this language and I use it constantly. I also have an okay grasp in French because I took it for three years (I could get by but conversations would not be a strong point) and I plan to do some review of it over the summer. I am an A1 in Japanese and can talk in a simplified manner. Reading and listening come easier for me. I also know some Spanish and can get the gist of conversations but can't actually speak it, except words that my family uses instead of the English ones.

Shasta forgot to mention that, for my birthday, ALB got me Rogue One, Aygee got me Funko Pops (anyone else obsessed with them) of Jyn, Rey, Sabine (from SW Rebels), and Cap, and Aygee-parents got me...the One Ring! It has the writing and everything! And they got me a chain to wear it around my neck, and it's about the right length, too! 😛
(Actually, it was Aygee-dad's idea, and Aygee-dad hates LotR, but he knew I liked it, soooooooooooooooooo.... 😉 )
@Dilly: Alright, neat-o! 😀
So cool hearing everybody's language experiences! I can spell in sign language but know only a handful of actual words, so conversations with deaf people always goes really slow for me (not that it happens often: I've only met two and only saw them for a couple of hours each).
Shasta is happy with the first 15 seconds of her video editing project.

@Jaygee (last page): Awesome!! One birthday (in 2016, I think) my brothers got me LotR stuff exclusively. It was so cool.
@Ariel: I love when projects start out well.
