Smeagol is going to try to figure out if she can fake a decent cape without cutting or sewing.

Sméagol has a cape that I made out of just a plain square of fabric by gathering the top two corners, tacking them with heavy-duty thread, and then pinning them together, if that makes any sense. 😛

Smeagol wakes up waaaaaaaaaaaaaay too early. Smeagol has been living on 5 hours of sleep every night for about three weeks. Smeagol is famished. FAMISHED! 😕

@hobbit: I've done the pinned-bedsheet cape a few times, but got tired of it, mainly with the way they fall and feel around my shoulders. And I always feel like I have to be so care to not pop the pin! What I ended up doing was folding a big piece of fabric (maybe 8 feet? I don't know, I haven't actually measured the thing) I've got over one of my cloth belts, so that it fell to the desired length, put it on, and pinned the material to the belt, both to retain the length and to keep the fabric from spreading out wider (and it's about as long as my belt and I need to actually buckle the thing!). And then, since I had a bunch of extra fabric hanging partway down my back, I got ambitious and sort of made a hood. Pinning that was so much harder, but then, that's also because I used the same pins that I'd used initially (I seem to have lost a big stash of safety pins, somewhere). So now that extra material falls in a more useful fashion. 😀 Took me at least an hour to figure it all out though....

Smeagol is an accidental pyromaniac. I burned a bit too much of a piece of paper I was aging. 😆

It was four days there, ten days in an unairconditioned apartment, and five days back. And we met six TLCers, had a family reunion, went somewhere else to visit an uncle and aunt, and met some awesome old family friends.
It was the most stressful vacation ever lol but we had fun.
