@Ariel: I realized on the 21st (for me) that the next day was Hobbit Day, and so I figured I'd put on the set early in case I forgot until late in the evening of the 22nd. (I think I did that last year.) 😛

Sméagol (unfortunately!) didn't do much to celebrate Hobbit Day. We didn't have our LOTR movies or the ingredients or the means to make the food we typically have on Hobbit Day, and we even forgot to turn on soundtracks and talk in hobbit accents. It's also rather hard to go someplace Shireish when you live in the middle of a city and your family doesn't have a vehicle. And I went all the way and forgot to wear my hobbit clothes! (I'm so mad at myself for that...)
But I'll probably be doing a belated Hobbit Day celebration in January on Tolkien's birthday. So that's alright.

Smeagol commemorated Hobbit Day with her Lorien cloak-pin necklace, One Ring, and a homemade bead bracelet reminiscent of Bag End that a friend had made for me. Might watch the second half of TTT too, since that's where I left off.
Funny thing, though: today, my One Ring fell off my finger and bounced away on the washroom floor. My thoughts in order were, "Ack, my ring!", "It betrayed Isildur to his death...", a mental movie of the Ring bouncing away from Gollum (as seen in the FotR prologue), and "Wow. All that over a cheap replica ring." 😆

Kristi is looking for volunteers to face off in the Narnia Trivia Tournament tomorrow (Sept 23, probably around 6 Pacific). This will be recorded for the podcast and so involves a few pre-requisites.
1. If you're under 18, you must have parental permission.
2. You need to have decent audio to your computer.
3. You need to have a way of audio- or video-calling the other podcast members. (Such as Google Hangouts.)
4. A way to record your audio and send it as an MP3 file is essential to including your audio in the broadcast.

😆 Wow, sounds like you had a more in-depth Hobbit Day than I did!
And thumbs-up to the One Ring story! That kind of thing's happened to me before, just not that exactly. For me it's mostly when someone asks me if they can see my One Ring necklace and my heart starts racing and a string of Boromir's lines goes tearing through my head and I instinctively grab the Ring in my hand.

*wishes I could be in the tournament, but I probably won't be proper awake at that hour* 😛
