Pansy was sick of worry by now, as she couldn't leave where she was planted in the ground, and didn't know where her beetle-friends where.

Fran looked around and noticed the 4 children for the first time.

They were dressed in fur coats, but now there were only three children and two beavers instead of four children.

"I say!" the smallest human exclaimed. "Talking Insects!"

The beetles abruptly shut up, and play dead.

"It's all right; we won't hurt you," the middle one quickly said.

The beetles continued to play dead.....

Except for Fred who was actually sleeping.

"I think that one is actually dead," said the youngest girl.

Suddenly, a tall man appeared out of nowhere- his hood cast back, a long bow in his hand. He was serious and grave, clad in green and brown. "Who are you?" he asked the children, "I am Faramir of Gondor and you have trespassed the Steward's lands."

The youngest gave a little start and screamed!

The beetles stay put, and the humans and beavers stood still.

Faramir felt like petting one of the beavers.

But the beaver was having none of that.

The beaver said, "I ain't gonna smell it, if that's what you want," and squirmed out of Faramir's reach.
