And then she went and joined a race with the Calormene soldier.

The soldier lost.

And then went to bed because he had already stayed up too late.

The chicken threw a victory party.

And did a chicken dance.

The Shasta came to check on the chicken to see where it was in life.

He met a Marshwiggle on his way.

"Hello?" Shasta said to the Marshwiggle, trying to be friendly.

"Good morning," the Marshwiggle replied, "though I shouldn't wonder if it didn't turn to fog, or rain, or thunder."

"Uh...OK?" he said. "Where are you going?"

"Why, it's not in reason that you'd like our sorts of places to go. You can come with me if you like, though I shouldn't wonder if you put a bold face on it."

Shasta didn't quite know what to say to that besides, "Oh, really?"

So then the Marshwiggle decided to just take Shasta with him on his way to meet Glimfeather.

Shasta came with him, not sure what to think about his new traveling companion.

When they finally reached Glimfeather's home, Puddleglum couldn't fit through the opening in the tree trunk.
