Heat? It burns us, precious, we hates it forever!! Seriously though, I do terrible in heat. With summers normally in the 100andsomethings it's good that "air conditioning is fully operational." 😉
Winters here are pretty boring, no snow just cold. Still I much prefer the cold.
@shi: I used to love tobogganing in my childhood and teen years. Haven't done it for a while. However, I do like ice skating, though winter or not, I tend to skate indoors the majority of the time.
So it snowed yesterday. I don't know how I'm processing that. Nothing that stuck, but it was cold enough to snow. IT SHOULDN'T BE THAT COLD YET!!! It's only the first weekend of October. I am looking forward to sledding behind the snowmobile and snowboarding this winter. (We get a pretty good about of snow in the winter.)
I was supposed to go to a Renaissance Faire this weekend, but it snowed then rained and was all muddy and freezing! So I didn't get to go. I didn't want to freeze and get my dress muddy. So I got to see The Maze Runner with my sister. Will Poulter did an excellent job. I read the book series that the movie is based off of, and they did a really good job of keeping it pretty accurate.
This weekend is the big fall festival in my town. So the Renaissance Faire takes place Sat/Sun, there's booths with people selling things on the town square, and a big parade on Sunday after church. I did the parade route twice. I'm a 4-H ambassador, so I was with the rest of the ambassadors on a float, then I ran back walked a little ways with my church, and went really far back and joined the rest of my family with our 4-H club float. So a lot of walking today!! Good exercise in the cold though!
OOH OOH! I saw Maze Runner too!!! YES! It was awesome! I want to see it again but things get in the way! Ariel you need to go see it! It was awesome! Will Poulter (Gally) Was AMAZING! I think he was one of my favorite characters! Actually. Yes! He was one of my favorite characters! There wasn't that much violence in it just the normal scraped knee, giant spiders injecting you with venom, and I will stop with spoilers. If you have already read the book then it is not a spoiler! I actually don't remember if they were spiders or something else! Oh well! (Is in a talkative mood and is typing REALLY fast) Anyway! I was watching a lot of Ballet videos on youtube and they were awesome! If you want to see something awesome, look up on youtube Miko Fogarty (No I am not giving away anything about myself, I am just giving the name of a really good dancer) And you can pretty much click on any of her videos! Ok Night all! *hugs all who wants to be hugged, waves at everyone who didn't want to be hugged, and gives cookies to all* Night! *flies off to Neldor* (My home world) G'NIGHT!
@Engee: I heard from a co-worker (and PluggedIn) that the movie is only very loosely based off the book. Gally, for example, is rather different.
@cor: Honestly, I'm mainly interested in the movie for Eustace - I mean, Gally - I mean... Will Poulter. 😛 And it's a rare thing for me to want to see a movie simply because it has a particular actor in it.
Well, Ariel, I'm a stickler for sticking to the book, and there were points where my sister and I were whispering between each other "Wait, that's not how this happened!" Or "What, wait, that's not suppose to happen yet." The big things were just the timing of events. They moved some things around, and sped up the time frame. In the book Thomas is stuck in the Maze for a lot longer time than he is in the movie. There were other little things, like the Homestead is this huge rickety house they live in, but it doesn't exist in the movie. There's just this lookout/tree house/tower thingy and a bunch of smaller buildings. I would disagree that Gally is different. I thought he was very close to how he was in the book. Will Poulter did an excellent job.
@Cor Have you read the books? And if you have, have your read the prequel? I just started it last night. But I believe they hid an important clue in the movie for the prequel.
@arna No, sadly I haven't read the books, so I might have to take a trip to the library soon! But I loved the movie, and I hated the cliff hanger! Do you know if they started making the second one yet?
Time-frame crunching is understandable. (I haven't seen any movie (not even LotR!) that had to do more time-crunching than Ender's Game: six years in two hours!) But between your opinion and that of my coworker, I guess I'm just gonna have to figure out what I think of the changes and whatnot. Later. 🙂 (Well, at any rate, I know that a certain character bites the dust in a different way.)
@Cor I would definitely recommend reading the books! The Maze Runner trilogy, that is. I just finished the prequel, The Kill Order. I wouldn't necessarily recommend that one, unless you're finishing high school/young adult. It's a lot darker and more disturbing than the trilogy.
@Ariel Yeah, they rearranged some events to help the flow of the time-frame crunch better.(And yeah, that's true, if I'm thinking of the character that you're thinking of. They took away his glory moment.)
OK! Thanks Arna! I will ask my Mom about them!
We have Internet!!!! Yay!
Yay!! That's great Shi, 😀
@Shi: Hurrah!
Yep! Hopefully I'll be around more now! 🙂
@ Shi: Yay!!! (Now maybe I can get to know you...heeheehee. 😛 )
