I love snow. And skating. Hated skiing though. 🙂
That's interesting! I'm not very good at ice skating. I got a lot better at roller skating over the summer though, and that's supposed to really help. We'll see how it goes this winter!
I am pretty good at ice skating, ballet certainly helps, but I hate it. It cramps my feet. I have only done it twice in my life so that might have something to do with it. I think it's really fun though!
I was once told that roller skating was a lot easier than roller blading. I couldn't move in the things, so I switched to roller blades, which felt like wheeled versions of ice skates, so I was good (except for trying to stop... didn't figure out how to do that, haha).
I haven't tried roller blading yet. Just roller skating. It's helping me learn the rhythm with a solid footing underneath me (or as solid as it gets on four wheels! Ha!). I've struggled with keeping my balance on ice skates, and then trying to learn the rhythm. Forget moving forward! I'm just trying to stay on my feet! 😛
Haha, wish I could be of service! I've helped a couple different friends learn to skate. 😀
Changing the subject, Bible Bee is this week, and, in case any of ya'll are interested in watching the Semis and Finals Friday and Saturday, they say there will be a link somewhere on the website. Currently, it either isn't up, or I just can't find it. 😀

Soooo... Something really crazy happened over the weekend. Friday night me and my sister left for my friend's birthday party. Right after we left, my mom decided to take our two dogs for a walk. She started down the road and my littlest sister asked, "What's that red on Ranger's leg?" (Ranger is my dog.) So my mom look and he had a huge gash in his back thigh. It was a triangle of torn skin a couple inches wide. It wasn't bleeding and Ranger was acting perfectly normal, thankfully. But my mom went in and called the vet. They were closed and neither of the vets were on call. So she called around and finally found an animal ER clinic about half an hour away. My mom took the dog and my younger siblings there. They checked Ranger in and told Mom she was leave, saying the procedure would only take about an hour. Well, they crashed at our friends' house and waited, and waited, and waited, and finally called the vet place. They had gotten several more emergencies that were worse than Ranger, so he was still waiting. My mom finally was able to pick him up after11 p.m. and made it back home around midnight. So that was a really long night for everyone. Thankfully Ranger is now doing fine. He has a row of stitches about four inches long on his leg. (And they shaved his hair off all around the spot so he looks funny too.) Plus, he had to wear one of the plastic cones around his head so he doesn't lick the injury. We're not sure what caused the injury but it was probably a piece of wire sticking out on the fence that he got caught on. So that's my kind of gross story for today. But we're all still really tired and catching up on sleep, and now we have to baby Ranger along in the house for two weeks. And we're all pretty allergic to him. That's why he spends most of his time outside!!! So that's the story.
Great story but just wondering: Why did you get a dog if you all are allergic to him?
My my what a story Engee! I'm glad he's doing better. 🙂
@Cor That is a good question. In short, because I love animals. 😛 And I didn't used to be allergic to him. It's only recently that I've developed allergies. As long as I don't touch him and then touch my face, I'm usually okay. I have to keep washing my hands. The same with our cats. I do fine with them sleeping on my bed as long as they don't touch my pillow or I pet them and touch my face.
Awww. I hope Ranger recovers quickly.
We've got animal problems of our own going on in the form of four of our neighbors' five dogs coming over every day or so. It drives our dog crazy. And our cats won't show their faces so long as the dogs are here. Soooo yeah, and only the two beagles will leave on their own. The other two (bigger) dogs have to be loaded into the van and driven back there, since our neighbors aren't at home much at all. 🙄 But the dogs are really friendly. Overly friendly, actually. I can't go outside without these two huge black dogs following me, one on either side, sticking their noses into my hands and pockets and lolling their tongues at me. It would be funny if it weren't annoying.
Aww, poor Ranger. I'm glad to hear he's doing better.
@Arna Ah Got it now! I dislike cats but I don't mind dogs.
Cor, you don't like cats?? Why ever not?
