Here's wishing you all a Happy New Year from the future! 2014 has been a great year so far (all 35 minutes of it). 😉

Hi! Just so you know the forum is going to look really wonky and pictureless for a day or two due to tinypic being hacked and some pictures on TLC being replaced with unsavory ones.

The only quick fix for this was to turn off all of the BBC code, so your bolds, italics and font colors will be gone for awhile, as well as your signatures. This is a temporary measure and will likely be turned off soon after tinypic is given time to go back to it's old self.

Hey all, I realized today that our chat thread kinda fizzled out. So, I thought I'd try to wake it up. 🙂

As the winter's been rather colder (with an excess of snow! 😀 )than usual here, I've been busy making myself all sorts of winter clothes. I recently finished mittens (nalbinding) and a hat (Tunisian crochet), and I am working on a cowl (also Tunisian crochet). What's everyone else up to?

I'm catching up on Psych and, while I'm not thrilled with the season so far per se, I'm... well, even euphoric over the fact that the episode I just watched ended with honest-to-goodness sage advice. Like... Gandalf-status sage. 😀
Besides that, um, not much. Just busy real-life stuff. 🙂

yay, chat thread is alive!

Well, I'm on my last quarter of school for the year! I have about a month left and I'll be all done with my studies for this year. I am soooo done with this 😛 this past school year was really crazy, what with siblings going off to college suddenly and sudden trips to California and British Columbia, Canada, it's been hard to keep up and school has been dragged out.

I'll get a month off of school.
I'm planning to do some scrapbooking, and I want to work on my weaving. I found my yarn the other day, so I can start 🙂 I also need to edit my NaNo novel. If anybody who has time wants to help me with that, PM me 😉 I'll be happy for volunteers.

Can we see a picture of your Island hat, Islie? (and what's a cowl?)

In weather news, it's almost 90 degrees here!

We've been having LOTS of ice and snow, and most of our days are nor warmer than freezing! *isn't used to that!!!*
Well... I've been sick four or five times since Christmas. 😐 We haven't really done much because of that.
That's basically it. 😛

@Berry: Hee, that weather sounds familiar 😉 Dad looked outside at the thermometer before dinner today and said, "Oh, it's warm; it's 20 degrees (Fahrenheit)!" 😆

@Tenny: A cowl keeps your neck warm, like a scarf, but instead of being a rectangle like a scarf, it's a tube that goes around your neck. 🙂

And here's my hat. It's got dark blue around the bottom for water, green and brown (and a mountain!) for an island, and light blue for sky. I don't know what the tassel's for.

They might not need me but; they might.

Oooooh! *loves Islie's hat!*

I've been working on tons of school, planning my trip around the world for the rest of my life, and working on several new piano pieces.

ooh, Engee, which piano pieces?
and tell us about your trip around the world!

Also, Islie, I think the tassel must be a burnt tree that fell over

Ooh! Nice hat! (I knit and crochet sometimes but don't have enough skill or patience to make anything except misshapen blobs. 😛

@Islie: lol, my dad and I are like that too. You know you live up north when you can say (with great excitement), "Hey, it's less below freezing!" 😆

@Berry: *wince* I'm sorry. Being sick that much really stinks. 🙁

Well, I can blame Ariel for what I'm learning to play on piano. She made Aragorn/Arwen sets with lyrics from the song 'A Thousand Years' by Christina Perri (I think that her name anyway :P). I've heard that song before and it's beautiful, even though I agree with Ariel and wouldn't touch the movie it came from with a ten-foot pole. So anyway, I found some sheet music for it and I'm learning to play it. The second piece that I'm learning to play is 'For the First Time in Forever' from Frozen! 😀 That one is harder than 'A Thousand Years' so I'm tackling 'A Thousand Years' first.

And my world trip...let's just say that my two best friends and I are planning on visiting every continent and beyond, the Moon, Mars, Pluto, plus fantasy worlds, Narnia, Middle Earth, Neverland... Climb Mt. Everest, ride in a submarine, zipline from the top of a skyscraper, and travel back in time in the TARDIS so I can do it over and over again. My last stop is the garden in the New Narnia. 🙂

Other news: I'm working on a new story! Yay! My friends and I have started a little writing group with weekly writing challenges and this week's challenge has really inspired me to jump out of my writing comfort zone and try something entirely new.

Edit: I also made a slouchy beanie hat on my sister's knitting loom. I love it! ^.^

@Engee: Well, look at that. It seems I've got you back for having inspired me to work on something by way of exposure to a song. (Except you're making more progress than I, lol.) 😀
