I didn't notice you were there at all before Gyps came. Now I'm wondering if I should have gone up to you first. 😛

*reads Ariel's post* oh you're welcome! 🙂 I do whatever I can to get TLCers together! (Even if I do kinda hate organizing events, I love experiencing them in the end and always end up going through the stress all over again to make it happen again... :P)
You got there TWENTY minutes early? *dies* well, we certainly arrived in increments, as you had suggested....
Oooooh, I've had Kristi's chocolate cordials. Mmmmmm, that was so good. It only lasted like... 20 minutes though -- I was caravanning with a half of dozen other people and shared it with everyone 😉 Unlike Ariel, I've never struggled with it being too pretty to eat 😉
I'm glad the meeting met your expectations, Ariel ^.^
I think the reason I was embarrassed was because I'd told Ariel via Gmail that I'd know her when I saw her. Unfortunately, when I was told wrong, I looked at the person and thought that she looked nothing like Ariel but still went over there and told her she was Ariel. To my dismay, Ariel was the quiet person sitting opposite her friend who I didn't even NOTICE until it was too late. You're too Aragornish for your own good, Ariel. 😛 So yes, I was very embarrassed. Once I saw Ariel's face, I knew it was her. If only she'd not had her BACK to me... 😛 *very embarrassed hobbit-horse-puppy*
*reads Ela's post* why is everyone always waiting on me? 😛 even at youth camp, Gypsy wouldn't talk to Ethan unless I was there. And even then she only smiled and nodded and maybe said "hi." But yeah... I really don't have problems running up to random people. As... proven by my approach of Ariel's friend.

@Engee: I know, right! I love hearing multiple sides of a story!

@Tenny: Heeheehee.
Well, we got there earlier than expected. Plus, my friends and I left their house in a bit of a hurry so we could avoid some company.
Normally, I don't have a problem either. If it's edible, I'm highly likely to eat it. I think it's just that Kristi's chocolate is a replica of something from a fandom I love. 🙂
Oh, yeah, we did talk about you recognizing me right away! Now I understand your embarrassment. You still his it really well, though. *squee!!* I've just been compared to Aragorn!! *happy dance, then runs to a corner and hunkers down in a dark cloak and a pipe* You might have just made my day, haha. The friend you marched up to later told me, "I wondered why you didn't correct her, but then I realized that she's the kind of person you (as in me specifically) would do that to." I guess I just like to keep people guessing....
And we wait for you, Tenny, because we don't know what to do without you! 😉 Ask my college friends: they can all tell you about how many times they had to ask me to sit with them at meals before I finally started going up to them on my own; took half a semester for them to accomplish! And they would try to pull me out of my shell by referring to me as a hermit. 😛

Dilly! Hi!! 🙂
*snugs* I've missed you!
Not much. 🙂 Secret Santa started, duck duck goose is going ballistic, and there was a US TLC gettogether, but really, nothing missed 🙂
Good to have you back!

So, I was just telling Ajjie a bit about my family's Christmas on the beach.

See, we drove from snow and ice, through a lot of snow and ice, to get to our family reunion on the beach (pretty much, it felt like we had a week of summer in the middle of winter), and then drove home through even more snow and ice after the week of Christmas.

Being at the beach, we talked a lot about the Wise Man and the Foolish Man. One day, we all made sandcastles. Some of them were pretty impressive (my architect uncle's sandcastle was very big). But at high tide, all the beach was getting covered, so we knew they'd be gone the next day.

The next day, we went down to the beach again, and Youngest Sister started looking around, wondering where in the world all the sandcastles had gone. I told her that this was why it was foolish of the Foolish Man to build his house on the sand. That really seemed to sink in, too; she now knows a lot more about sand, and the power that waves have over sand. And even though I was old enough that I knew to expect the sandcastles to be gone, it was still very impressive and kind of surreal to know that all these sturdy, solid sandcastles we built had literally been washed away.

Then there was also the day that my architect uncle decided to count grains of sand. He got himself a little sample of sand, dried it, and estimated the ridiculously huge number of grains of sand he had in that little tiny sample. It made for a powerful (not to mention mind-boggling) image, which is gonna stick in my mind just like the sandcastles being washed away will.

Anyway, for those of us who are in a bunch of snow right now, here's a bit of "summer" for you. 🙂 Or, at least, a whoooole lot of sand... 🙂

They might not need me but; they might.
I'll let my Head be just in sight;
A smile as small as mine might be
Precisely their necessity.
