Youth camp last weekend was AMAZING!
And Narniac made me a cloak O.O she is AWESOME
*two mysterious cloaked figures go into a store and come out a few minutes later with sodas and cookies to PARTY!* No seriously, Tenny and I did that tonight! It was great! And the cloak that Narniac made Tenny is amaziiiiing! (She's so good, so good!) And now I have inspiration to make a cloak. 😛
Tell us about youth camp, Tenny! It sure was amazing! I turned really outgoing, and wore my cloak the whole time, and made tons of friends... and even talked to a guy. 😯 😆 And my cloak got caught on a bush while we were climbing a mountain, and Tenny and Arli were running ahead and I was like "WAIT UP, YA'LL, I GOT CAUGHT ON A HOOK HALFWAY!!!" 😆
Aaaaaaaaaand then we met Kristi in real life after camp. That was great! 😀 I didn't really talk, though. 😕
Yeah, I LOVE that cloak. When I wear it with my red shirt I look like a Narnia pavilion, and when I wear it with my purple shirt I look like an Archenlander guard 😀 Nia is amazing.
Now youth camp... aw man, that was the best 😛 I did at least 6 hours of volunteer work in the kitchen in my spare time -- I peeled 20 pounds of potatoes, and have the blister to prove it, I chopped ham, shredded chicken, unwrapped cheese, served meals, washed dishes, washed more dishes... It was awesome 😛
7am rise and shine... 7:10 volunteering in the kitchen every morning until 8:30. When everyone had been served breakfast, I ate. At 9, I was studying Bible verses to win points for my team, and assisting wherever I was needed. 9:15 was breakout session (we girls ended up doing cheerleading both days :P) One of the cheers was "I choose to do right, yes I do. I choose to do right, how about you?" and it was with a "stomp stomp, clap clap, stomp stomp clap" repeated over and over throughout the cheer 😛 the other one was, "With God's help *clap clap* I can make it *whooohooo!*" It was... really amusing 😛
We went hiking Friday afternoon and somehow Arlian and I missed the whole "stay behind Brother Travis" part of the rules. So we led a group in climbing a waterfall... and got seriously busted 😛 Saturday we went on another hike up the sand and rocks behind the campgrounds. That was fun -- I wore my turban. *grins innocently*
Yeah, we did go and see Kristi Sunday evening -- we chatted, and sang "I'm cute!" and then Arlian taught me and Gypsy to beatbox on the way home. That was epic 😛 been doing it all week now.
And I came home very wounded. I have this enormous bruise on my left knee 😛 and this blister. And my hands have black slits across them from a tire that was spinning that I grabbed 😛 They're really paper cuts that have tire stain in them, so they look absolutely terrible 😛
Aw, man! I wish I had helped out more in the kitchen! I had the best time ever in the kitchen! That's where I had the most fun. Doing dishes. 😛
And I didn't go with the busted crew up the waterfall, because I kneeeeeew we weren't supposed to. 🙄 But when we climbed the smaller mountain (the one that I got caught on a bush half-way on), I cut up my hands because I had just like, burnt my hands off in HOT dish water!
Waking up early was soooooooooo fun! I think I prefer waking up reeeeeeeally early to going to bed late now, actually. *innocent* And beatboxing for like, 45 minutes on the way home was so fun! It was like a party for 12 hours on the way to and back from youth camp! 😛
OK, the beat-boxing part ended camp with a boom -- literally 😛
boots and cats and boots and cats and...
That sounds... busy but also fun! I've only ever been to a camp once. What could it be called? Environmental camp? Nature camp? Science camp? No idea. I had a blast, though.
Been to TeenPact now. 😕 I liked parts of it.
Sounds like you all had fun, and I can relate to the kitchen work. 😉
@Hobbit I want to hear!!! I nearly went to TeenPact a couple years ago, but wasn't able to. I've had friends who have gone and said it was awesome.
@ Engee: Okay, well, my sister went last year and really enjoyed it so my parents figured my brothers and I would also like it so they had us go this year too. But for one thing, it was really more worldview-class-oriented than government-class-oriented, which was interesting in a way but not what I was expecting. Then, too, the leaders of our co-op group that went weren't all on the same page as far as concerned the media policy so I was told I couldn't bring books for free time whereas others were allowed to...and I, being a book-addict, was completely freaking out. But I did make a few new friends (all boys, which was slightly surprising). I had a few really fascinating and deep conversations with one of the girls I was rooming with, and I got to see a whole lot of awesome places in the Capitol building I'd never seen before (like the Senate and the House and the Lieutenant Governor's office). The evening sessions were very interesting. I didn't really like rendezvous or the prayer walks because I really don't like praying out loud in large groups of people. But it was really fun to hang out and play the cup game and sing for a while in the evenings. And then I was completely exhausted when we got back.
I'm glad I went but I doubt I'll go again. It was just so stressful for someone who doesn't like being around large groups of people and is sort of reliant on books to stay un-stressed. There are many, many, many people who I'm sure would love it, though.
*hugs Hobbit*
Anybody wanna know about my interview? 😛
I do!
So do I!
^.^
Well, it went AWESOME! I got to learn about what goes into the behind-the-scenes stuff at Chick-Fil-A, and she gave me a list of the job descriptions, and we discussed some stuff. She was really sweet and easy to talk to, and I think she was pretty happy with me.
In all, I think it went very well... and they want me for a THIRD interview next week! 😛 I think I've got a pretty good chance of getting the job. 🙂
I've never heard of a third (or even second) interview for fast-food, but one can only take it as a good sign. 😀 So proud of you, Tenny. 🙂
