@Shi: O_O are you okay?!
Ouch, Shi. That musta hurt!
Oh! Poor Shi 🙁 Hope you're ok!!
Wow, Shi. 😕 I hope you're okay! 😯
Yeah I'm ok. I have a very low tolerance for pain. :/ And I was in a parking lot by our car and luckily my dad mostly was able to stop the fall so I didn't hit my head hard, which is good cause that could've been bad. My finger is bruised and purple-ish under the nail. And swollen. So yeah.
Oh, Shi! Ouch, that must've hurt! And to answer your question... I mainly use patterns, but I like to use a pattern as a base and then make adjustments and changes as I see fit. Sometimes I don't use a pattern at all, but I have drafted a few patterns here and there for simple skirts and the likes.
You passed out, Shi? Wow, I've never passed out! Smashing your finger in a door is painful, though. 😛
Engee- Awesome! Makes sense.
Hobbit - yeah, from the pain. I've done it only 3 times in my life (not all from pain) and I hate being nauseous. It's a terrible feeling.
Eee, get all better really soon, Shi! o.O
They might not need me but; they might.
I'll let my Head be just in sight;
A smile as small as mine might be
Precisely their necessity.

Thanks Islie! 🙂
It sounds like you got hurt worse than I did when I smashed my finger. Mine looked awful, but didn't hurt anywhere near enough to make me pass out. Hope your finger heals soon!
I smashed my finger in a door once and it hurt really bad, but it didn't look as bad as your finger, Shi. 😯 (*saw pictures on FB, I think* 😕 )
Ouch, Shi. *winces* I hope your finger heals very soon!
It's been hectic on my side of the world. First there was the trip to a place far far away, with two cats in the back. Oy. It was terrible at first with all the meowing and scratching at the cage bars. Poor things hated it. Then we had the brilliant idea of letting them out of their cages to roam free in the car. They were so good for the rest of the trip, sweet things slept most of the time and loved being cuddled (which is weird for our big male cat who normally hates it).
So we finally made it to this strange place and moved into our apartment, which is just a section of an older home. It isn't so very different from where I lived but then again, there are things that are strange, to me at least. Like how safe I feel. I honestly feel very safe walking around compared to other places I've been. Also, EVERYONE is friendly... not something I'm used to. The daylight is something that's quite unfamiliar to me - the sun normally set at around seven whereas it sets at about 10:15 now, so I'll definitely have to get used to that. My "inner clock" is also messed up because of the timezone change.
While we spent our time at "home" the first couple days, we traveled to the nearest major city on Saturday. It was beautiful! I wish I could live there, in the historic district. I also saw my future college, (I'm hoping), which is HUGE! I wasn't expecting it to be that big. It's like three or four times the size of the other college I was hoping to attend last year. I'm so excited but also so nervous at the thought of attending. After that, we went to a historic place, a penitentiary, which I found very interesting. But the best part was the museum inside that museum: it was a weapons museum that went from ancient swords all the way to the military guns of WWII. I loved it, especially the section on WWI - there was a trench that allowed one to take the pov of soldiers - wow, was that something.
Towards the end of that day we went to a small aquarium and pet/fed rays and sharks.
Sunday we went about looking at homes and also went to a Renaissance Faire. There wasn't much to it, but I pet a beautiful red bay mare and saw plenty of other horses.
I guess that's just about it. It was an exciting first few days, to be sure. ☺
Wow! That sounds so fun, Ela! I want to go do some more traveling now!
Wow, Ela, lots of changes! But it sounds fantastic!
