Congrats, Elanor!
Congrats Ella! Best wishes!
Congrats Tenny on your permit!
*somehow missed Ela's announcement* WHOOT! GO ELA! YEAH, GIRL!
Thanks everyone!
I'm so excited to finally begin my path to a career in history. Right now I have to attend part-time because of non-resident tuition costs (it's about double the cost of regular tuition and I can't change my residency status till next year), so I'm only taking 10 credits (3 classes) instead of the recommended 15 (roughly 5 classes) - I do have 9 credits already from college work in high school so it makes things less stressful as I want to graduate in four years. Still, the important thing is I'm going this autumn. ^-^ *is still overloaded with excitement*
@Ariel: I've actually been waiting to use that gif, haha. It perfectly describes how I feel right now. 😀
@Elanor: That's all fantastic! And hey, part-timing for a year may be a good thing, what with the move and easing you into college life! 😀
(And I totally believe your saving that gif. 😀 Ugh, I need to get my copy of that movie back....)
Well, my fellow Narnians, I official leave for college in 7 days. 7 DAYS! I'm freaking out. Any older TLCers who've been to college/uni have any advice on stuff to take that you'll actually use or really needed?
We're in the middle of our 4-H and county fair this week. It's so much fun. The best part is that my Anna dress won Champion Constructed Garment Level 3, as well as overall Grand Champion Constructed Garment!!!!!! I'm really happy!
Yay, Engee!
Wow, Arna! 😮 Have fun!
Ooh, coolness, Engee!
As for college stuff, I took some school supplies, a binder or two for notes, and clothes for every possible weather situation (layering is good stuff). Room decor is up to you. I took a couple things which made me look less Spartan than otherwise; but don't bring too much either because you /do/ accumulate stuff over time. Oh, and bring your Narnia books! You may or may not have a chance to read them, but you never know when they'll be just the thing you need for a paper. 😉
YAY, Ela! I'm so glad to hear that <3 Congrats!

I didn't move away for college, but things I would recommend are:
Your Bible (I try to read mine every day, this is important not just for my relationship with God but also to give myself a break from schoolwork every day.)
Lots of ink pens. Now that I'm in college, I lose mine everywhere... I never did this when I was high-school age.
Extra flash drive; back up all your important papers.
A paper or electronic planner to keep track of your assignments.
Food that you can eat very fast.
Envelopes if your school has a free school mailbox system, that way you can give your friends cards. My sister really loved getting cards from other students when she went away for college.
I hope this is good advice, my sister took her copies of Narnia, but I think she only used them once.
Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. If you really knew Me, you would know My Father as well." - John 14:6-7a
Well....this is random. But since this is the chat thread I suppose I can do that.
Anyone else really interested in seeing PAN when it hits theatres in October?
Oh, yeah, I saw a trailer for that. I don't know. Perhaps if a second trailer makes it look really good or if I hear really good things about it?
I'm waiting for "War Room", myself.
