@Jaygee: ๐
Making up stories keeps me awake. ๐ I get carried away on an adventure... and well, adventures are more exciting than sleep. ๐
If it's late enough you can't stay awake and you fall asleep in the middle of your story and then it sometimes gets incorporated into your dream!! Which is awesome when it happens. ๐
๐
While we're talking about that, does anyone else finish dreams you wake up in the middle of? *hopes that makes sense*
By "finish", do you mean within a second dream or after you've awoken? A couple times either way, for me, though the former is difficult to accomplish, especially if you happen to be interested in the dream.
I think I might know what you mean, Jaygee, but you may want to specify a bit further. ๐
I mean wake up and kinda tell the rest to yourself as a story.
Yesssssssssssss! I do that a lot. ๐
Yep. I've done that.
*takes off heels and collapses into a chair* Today has been a long day - long but very fun. We've been driving around several towns today looking for a house, so far we have it down to about four: a Georgian style built in 1922, a Queen Anne built in 1894, a Victorian on about an acre built in 1900, and a Tudor style built in 1932. They all require work, some more than others, but it's delightful to see the potential each has.
Also, I found two old bookstores that had WWI books published around that time (some were even signed by the authors! Too expensive for me, though). I had to choose only two - such a difficult decision but I'll sure be going back to get the rest. ๐ In the first the owner engaged in a conversation with me since he said, "You don't really see young people buy old books like this, especially not ones of this particular subject matter." So, I told him how it has greatly interested me and he talked about the importance of learning about the Great War even though most American schools decide to skim over it. Right on! Anyway, I took home an account of a Canadian Private and an account of a minister of America to Belgium (this one had the original receipt of .35 cents hidden within the pages).
Annnd - I'm freaking out inwardly. One more day till classes begin.
Seriously. You guys and sweet old houses! ๐
And so cool you found those books and an owner who definitely shares your interest and appreciation for WWI materials!
*Baymax hug* You'll be fine, I promise. Just take a few deep breaths in between stuff. ๐
@Ella: Best wishes for school! Those houses sound cool!!
Thanks, Shi. Things did go well and I'm looking forward to another day of classes tomorrow.
We visited a house that is on the edge of crumbling in on itself. Such a shame as it's beautiful.
Ela----I am sorry I missed your "going away chat." =(
Hope classes go well!!! *HUGS*
(The books sound so fascinating!!!! AND the houses!)
@Anne: No problem - maybe I could have another chat party since it was pretty fun. ^.^ Thanks, and I am enjoying my classes so far. German especially. I know how greet: guten Tag oder hallo! Ask/tell names: Wie heiรe du? Ich heiรe Elanor. Ask/Tell where I'm from: Wie kommst du? Ich kommst aus [Stadt und Zustand]. I have to get used to capitalizing nouns.
We saw /another/ house today! It was built in 1904 and is simply beautiful. There's a porch in the front with windows all around, original hardwood floors, french doors in nearly all the rooms, and it's wallpapered and painted to the time it was built. It's the nicest we've seen so far, less work than the rest of the lot, and the price is reasonable. We're going to make an offer on it! ๐ ๐
You capitalize nouns in German? Did I know this? ๐ฏ At any rate, I'm glad school's going well!
Ooh, it sounds real pretty, Elanor! I hope you get this one!
