@Lana: Ah. I don't like pony rides at events and stuff because the horses are usually so dull. đ
Tirian slept through the first half of church today. đ
Tirian wonders if Gyps got enough sleep
Tirian agrees with Gyps about pony rides. The horses don't care and you get to ride, what, five times in the corral before you get off? At least with trail rides, you get a longer time and more space to actually ride, even if those horses tend not to care either. (Though, the last trail ride I was on, my horse reminded me of Philip from movie!LWW. He would literally turn his head to to see if I was watching him to make sure he didn't eat anything.)
For me it was always like I didn't get to connect with the horse (or pony) because to them, I was just like every other kid who came in. Also the people in charge of the ride always act as if you don't know the first thing about riding. I remember when I was in my early teens we went on a trail ride and the guide was like, "Here, these are the reins, and you use them to steer the horse." He must have mistaken my, ".....seriously?" expression for fear because he's like, "Actually, you can just hold onto the pommel and don't bother with the reins; the horse will follow the others on its own," and then he pointed out what the pommel was!! đ I was too shy at the time to explain that I'd taken riding lessons. And it was a slow horse, too. Like the one Shasta got from the Archenlanders...
Tirian!
Oh boy. At least with the trail ride I've gone with a few times, they ask first if you've ridden before. (Actually was complimented by one of the guides last time, though I know I'm not an outstanding horseman. đ )

IKR about not being able to connect with the horses. Ugh. It's not only the humans who think you don't know the first thing about riding. đ I went on a trail ride once and got complimented for knowing what I was doing. (I didn't even know how to ride back then.) And then she let us trot. That was really fun! It was the fastest I'd ever gone on a horse. đ (Now I can gallop bareback and bridleless.) I still remember the horse I rode on the trail... He was a fleebitten grey gelding whose name was Turkey. đ
Tirian has pictures of herself riding a horse around in a cloak now. ^.^
I was never even allowed to gallop. I guess they were afraid I would fall off because the horse I learned on was huge and I was really tiny until I turned twelve, at which point we'd already stopped lessons. *sad sigh*
Tirian thinks that's awesome.
Galloping is...terrifying at first. *nods* Cantering is easier than trotting but also very scary until you get used to it. xP It's so fast! đŻ
Tirian pokes Hobbi to Skype. đ
