VeggieTales just for children?
Pshaw! I have to disagree. 😉 (I'm sure some others would too.)

So here's a thread to discuss anything and everything about our favourite vegetables (or fruit), silly songs, episodes, and movies. 😀

It's time for VEGGIETALES!!!

I love how VeggieTales does "spoofs" of other well known stories or movies, and many are well done at that. 😀

Well my favourite episode would have to be "King George and the Ducky," I'm not sure why but I love that one and it's silly song "Barbara Manatee." I really enjoy watching the old, or classic, VeggieTales even though they don't have the wonderful animation that we have now, so any of those would rank high on my list. I do like some newer ones but overall they don't seem to have as much charm as the others. And by new I mean 2005+

Bob the Tomato has, (and most assuredly will always be), my favourite of the group. Junior is cute though. ^.^

The peak of VeggieTales reaches from Sumo of the Opera to Pirates, with some bleed-over on either side (so like King George and Esther on the one side and Wizard of Ha's and League of Incredible Vegetables on the other). VT is seriously losing it though. Their stories have grown weak, the lessons even moreso, and their humour is dying (even their silly songs are growing truly silly and less and less funny).

Favourite VT: ... can't recall if I've even determined that for certain
Favourite silly songs: The Yodeling Veterinarian of the Alps, Larry's High Silk Hat, and The Gated Community
Favourite character: probably Larry?

VT really needs to step it up with the stories in my opinion and I agree, the silly songs now really aren't very funny. I thoroughly enjoyed The League of Incredible Vegetables, but the silly song was just... meh. The newest VT silly song "Kilts and Stilts" was pretty good (I haven't watched the actual episode MacLarry and the Stinky Cheese Battle but I've heard that it's sort of a spoof on HTTYD.)

A few silly songs that I REALLY like would be: The Pirates That Don't Do Anything, Cheeseburger, Monkey, and Ukelele Karaoke with Bob. 😀 (I'm sure there's more but those were the only ones I could remember.)

"Where Have All the Staplers Gone?" is so very true.... I always lose pens, pencils, or have unusable dried/smashed markers. 😛

It was the very first DVD I ever owned. It's a good VT and I still enjoy it. 😀

Wow! I don't remember the first DVD I owned!

The Pirates Who Don't Do Anything is my favorite VT DVD and the best Veggie Tales we own. 😀

I think the first VT DVD we owned was Sheerluck Holmes. (The only reason I believe it's this one is because of all of the issues we had with it, we had to take it back to the store at least two times.) All of the others that we had were on VHS, but slowly we were able to replace them with DVDs.

That was a pretty good movie. 😀 Did you like Jonah too?

I happen to really like the Minnesota Cuke and the Search for Sampson's Hairbrush one, and also "The Search for Noah's Umbrella", "Jonah" "The Pirates Who Don't Do Anything" and "The League of Incredible Vegetables."

Have you ever had an instance where something in VT reminds you of real life experience. I must confess that "The League of Incredible Vegetables" reminded me very very much of being asked to be a contributor. Sounds weird, but it all linked together. Junior member, super suit (contrib avvy). Silly me, I get some really crazy ideas.

I also like Little Joe. That one's just fun. And Lord of the Beans 😀 that might be my favorite, next to the League.

My favorite character is all of them, and my favorite silly song is probably... "Where Have All the Staplers Gone", "Donuts for Benny" or that new one that's come out with the different accents. About dancing on stilts.

Kilts and Stilts (beware of dragons. Veggietales nor wikia is associated with TLC.)

And also also also, what did ya'll think of the Saint Patrick one they put out?

I love Veggie Tales. I simply can't decide on my favourite...there are too many!!! Although Jonah is right up there near the top.
Why do I say that? Yesterday, me and my little sister were watching it together and reciting a lot of the lines. It scares my mother that we know all the lines 😀
I agree with Elanor on the more recent silly songs: they aren't as funny. My favourite would have to be the Belly Button song.
Also, I would have to pick Khalil as my favourite character. He is so funny and cute and everything! I wish he were my pet... 🙂

My weekly class was learning about plant identification (and lots of other plant stuff) this past week, and one of my classmates made a very interesting observation:

Many of the vegetables in VeggieTales are actually fruit.

You see, fruits have seeds, vegetables (by definition) do not. So Bob the tomato is a fruit, as are Larry the cucumber and the squash and the zucchini (forgot their names).

*gasp* Scandal!
