I’m a member of St. Mark’s church, Dundela in Belfast (Lewis’s childhood church) and recently put together a little video highlighting our connection to the great man.
Blurb: ” As a young boy growing up in Belfast, C. S. Lewis would would stare at the shiny lion doorknob on the door of the rectory, where his grandfather was clergyman. Many years later this would provide the inspiration for the character of Aslan, in his ‘Chronicles of Narnia’.
‘Journey into Narnia’ uses the motif of the lion doorknob to transport us from a suburban church in Belfast to the magical kingdom of Narnia. The video concludes with a short selection of well known inspirational texts from the chronicles.
Join Aslan, as we journey from St. Mark’s Church, Co. Down to the magical land of Narnia”.
