Thanks to Narniagirl11 for making us aware of this news bit.
Two cast members from the Walden Media film The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe (2005) are playing characters in a soon-to-be-released audio drama of In Freedom’s Cause, a historical novel by G. A. Henty. (1) The story recounts the adventures of William Wallace and Robert Bruce during the War of Scottish Independence. (2) The project, produced by Bill Heid, features Skandar Keynes, who played Edmund in all three of the Walden Narnia films, and James Cosmo, who made his appearance in the land of Narnia as Father Christmas. James Cosmo will be playing the part of Sir Robert Gordon. Keynes will be playing the role of Sir Allan Kerr, one of the book’s antagonists. This character is said to be “A role not far removed from his pre-redemptive character in The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe“. (3) The drama also features Billy Boyd, who played Pippin in The Lord of the Rings. The audio drama is due to be released some time in November.

Is it bad that I’m squeeing just because the actors are cast together? 😀
not at all 😛 that was both my and Arna’s reaction.
Hurrah! In Freedom’s Cause is one of my favorite historical fictions, and it is very exciting to here that they are using such great actors. 😀
I tried to listen to the Librivox audiobook of In Freedom’s Cause but the reader (there was only one) wasn’t very interesting to listen to and didn’t annunciate very well, so I never finished it. But maybe this one…! 🙂
I have never read this book, but the drama sounds super, super interesting!!!! Billy Boyd is in it too! That’s so neat.
Also Billy Boyd (Pippin) from The Lord of the Rings is apparently in it.
yes, isn’t that cool? 😀 all these great fantasy actors together to create historical fiction stuff! *squee*
*fangirlish screaming and jumping up and down* But Pippin… And Edmund….. and Father Christmas……all in the same… Just cant… 🙂
Wow, interesting! I’ll have to look into this. 😀
There’s a trailer now.
So I watched the trailer.
Now I really…
really…
REALLY want to listen to it!! 😛
Wow. All three of them. I like Father Christmas in Narnia. This will be good. Billy Boyd is one of my favorite actors.
