As I was reading The Voyage of the Dawn Treader to my daughter last night, I noticed something curious in one of the illustrations. With apologies to the brilliant Pauline Baynes, can you spot the oddity? Leave your thoughts in the comments.

Isn’t Narnia flat? What is Caspian doing with a ROUND globe? It doesn’t look like earth.
That’s really odd. At first I was studying the globe to work out if it looked like Narnia or Earth. Took me longer to realise that it shouldn’t be a globe at all! I wonder if it’s there as a mythical object. Like when we have model gryphons or unicorns, they have models of mythical round worlds.
That is hilarious and I don’t think I ever noticed it before!
